¡Bienvenidos! Welcome!

Dear Parents/Guardians and Students:

Welcome to the exciting “World of Spanish.” It is my pleasure to be your child's Spanish teacher this school year. Born on the tropical island of Puerto Rico, I had the great opportunity to live in the United States of America for fifteen years. I hope you will get to know me as a patient and caring advocate for every student’s learning.

Speaking Spanish from my childhood days on, I enjoy teaching Spanish and recognize the importance of becoming bilingual as an important tool for every student in order to succeed in life. Languages open doors to many opportunities in life. Spanish is the second most commonly spoken language in the United States and is the fourth most commonly spoken language in the world—after English, Chinese, and Hindustani.

Your child has chosen a great opportunity to know and learn about the Spanish language and its rich cultures. As the teacher, one of my goals is to guide and help your child to have communicative competence in Spanish increasing their language skills in the four language domains: listening, speaking, reading, and writing. In the same way, this course will help your child to increase his/her cultural awareness of the Hispanic and Hispanic American cultures.

Please check google classrooms as often as possible to look for new announcements, classroom assignments, or assessments.

Please find some useful material for reviewing vocabulary and grammar structure. Also, I encourage you to practice ABC in Spanish.
